CT scan head without contast

Axial and 3D reconstruction of CT scan head noting the premature closure of the metopic suture, small anterior cranial fossa, and triangular forehead.

Case Discussion

Trigonocephaly is the premature fusion of the metopic suture leading to deformation of the anterior calvarium and causing keel-shaped deformity of the forehead. In most cases, surgical correction is performed for aesthetic and psychosocial reasons.

The metopic suture is usually open at birth and normally fuses in the first 12 months of life.

My appreciation extending to Ajay Prashanth Dsouza ,HOD & consultant pediatric radiologist, Dr.Muhammed Anwar, Consultant Pediatric Radiologist, Jukha Shater Ali Ali AL Badawi , Radiology manager, Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital, Dubai, for their valuable supports.
