Mechanical fall, extensive edema and pain in the right ankle.

Age: 53-year-old
Gender: Female

Anle radiographs

Displaced trimalleolar fracture of the ankle: distal fibula, "posterior" and medial tibial malleolus.

CT

CT Ankle

Post reduction CT images demonstrating again the fractures through the medial malleolus, the posterior aspect of the tibial plafond (referred to as the posterior malleolus) and the lateral malleolus.

Case Discussion

Unstable fracture of the ankle involving the medial malleolus, the posterior aspect of the tibial plafond (referred to as the posterior malleolus) and the lateral malleolus.
