Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

There are displaced fracture lines involving the medial, posterior and lateral malleoli with subluxation and angulation of the ankle joint.

There is evidence of callus formation at distal fibula fracture ends.

Case Discussion

These trimalleolar fractures are unstable injuries and the degree of talar shift here is significant.

Significant associated vascular and neurological injury can occur.
