Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Female
x-ray

Trimalleolar fracture of the ankle, with lateral subluxation of the of the talus. Displaced and comminuted fracture of the lateral malleolus, superior to the tibial plafond. Transverse fracture of the medial malleolus at the level of the tibial plafond. Minimally displaced fracture of the posterior malleolus. A small bone fragment inferior to the calcaneum likely represents a os peroneum. Marked soft tissue swellling.

A trimalleolar fracture  involve the medial malleolus, the posterior aspect of the tibial plafond (the posterior malleolus) and the lateral malleolus.
