Minimally displaced fractures of the medial malleolus, the posterior aspect of the tibial plafond and the lateral malleolus.
Case Discussion
This is an unstable fracture of the ankle.
The posterior aspect of the tibial plafond is referred to as the posterior malleolus and hence the derivation of the tri in trimalleolar fracture.
