Tuberculosis of the bladder

A 45 year old male presented with urinary incontinence.

Patient Data

Age: 45
Gender: Male

Markedly thickened reduced capacity urinary bladder is seen.


Markedly contracted bladder, ascites.

Case Discussion

CT scan and ultrasound showed, markedly contracted and small capacity urinary bladder, with diffuse asymmetric bladder wall thickening. Proximal hydroureteronephrosis is seen bilaterally.

Gross ascites is also noted.

Cystoscopic biopsy confirmed tuberculosis of urinary bladder.
