Tuberculous osteomyelitis of femur

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Intramedullary rounded lucency of the proximal shaft of the left femur with endosteal scalloping.

Follow up after 3 months

x-ray

Follow up after three months reveals decreased size of the proximal femoral shaft lucency.

FU 9 mth post-Rx

x-ray

Follow up after 9 months of treatment shows complete resolution of the bone lucency with osseous remodeling and near-complete restoration of normal osseous texture.

Case Discussion

The patient was treated as tuberculous osteomyelitis with symptomatic improvement after 15 days of AKT.

Surgery done - Biopsy taken. Bone grafting was done.

Pathology says - Tuberculosis.
