Presentation

Non-specific symptoms and a cervical lymph node.

Patient Data

Age: 12 years
Gender: Female

Marked omental thickening and multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes.

Throughout the abdomen there is diffuse omental and peritoneal disease with 'matted' bowel loops.

Long thickened segment of terminal ileum.

Right hilar lymphadenopathy.  Extensive subcarinal lymph node enlargement.

Case Discussion

The working diagnosis prior to CT imaging was of a haemopoietic malignancy.

The imaging appearances were confirmed with an ultrasound guided biopsy, which confirmed the presence of caseating granulomas and AFFB were identified.
