Fluid collection around the 2nd right sternocostal joint measuring 50 x 40 x 36 mm (mean density = 23 HU) with irregular cortical destruction of the sternal manubrium. No signs of mediastinitis.
Both lungs are clear. No pleural effusion or mediastinal lymphadenopathy.
Case Discussion
CT features are most consistent with septic sternocostal arthritis.
An ultrasound-guided aspiration was performed with a culture that confirmed the tuberculous origin.
