Case Discussion

7 years old female with tuberous sclerosis complex presenting with seizures as well as delayed mental milestones. Physical inspection of the patient demonstrates three facial fibromas.

The patient was referred to the MRI unit to assess the neurological manifestation of tuberous sclerosis.

MRI of the brain revealed multiple scattered cortical tubers as well as bilateral subependymal hamartomas. No evidence of signal abnormality at the region of the foramen of Monro to support subependymal giant cell astrocytoma.
