The MRI sequences demonstrate:
- bilateral cortical and subcortical areas of low signal on T1, high signal on T2 and FLAIR with no enhancement in keeping with cortical/subcortical tubers
- cystic-like cortical tubers of low signal on FLAIR in the left occipital, left frontal and parietal regions
- subependymal nodules of various sizes, the largest is located at the right foramen of Monro measuring 11 x 8 mm. They are of isosignal to the cortical grey matter on T1, iso-to low signal on T2, and high signal FLAIR with no enhancement on postcontrast sequences. Dilatation of the lateral ventricles.
Case Discussion
The clinical presentation and MRI features are most consistent with tuberous sclerosis.
