Progressive right lower quadrant pain, high CRP.
Patient Data
A circumscribed but irregular, hypoechogenic, avascular area is visible in the painful region, corresponding to the expected location of the right ovary, measuring about 9 cm. Further evaluation with CT is recommended.
An about 9 x 8 x 7 cm right adnexal, inhomogeneously enhancing conglomerate is visible with surrounding fat stranding, and locoregional lymph node enlargement, indicative of tubo-ovarian abscess.
Other findings: Small calcified granulomas and - considering the single-phase acquisition - likely small cysts in the spleen. Circumscribed low-density cystic structure in the mesenteric fat adjacent to the left kidney in line with benign mesenteric cyst.
