Case contributed by Dr Ammar Haouimi

Presentation

Patient Data

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female

The MRI sequences demonstrate agenesis of the corpus callosum with a lobulated inter-hemispheric fatty mass of high signal intensity on T1WI, FLAIR, and T2WI (on T2WI the signal is lower than CSF), attenuated on T1WI fat suppression sequence. There is a bilateral intraventricular extension, giving the appearance of a Viking helmet head configuration on coronal sequences. A chemical shift artifact is noted. The anterior cerebral arteries are well-visualized, coursing through the superior portion of the lipoma.
