Tug lesion: soleal line

X-rays ordered for knee pain. No history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

There are incidental prominent bilateral tug lesions along the soleal line: along the proximal attachment of the soleus muscle to the proximal tibia and fibula.

Case Discussion

The soleal line is a bony “tug lesion” that can form on the tibia and fibula proximal at the attachment of the soleus.
