Info

There is a well-defined soft tissue mass within the right tympanic cavity of the middle ear, lateral to the cochlear promontory, abutting the tympanic membrane. It shows homogeneous enhancement post intravenous contrast.

No bone destruction or erosion.

The left ear appears normal.

Case Discussion

Typical appearances of tympanic paraganglioma, the most common benign primary tumours of the middle ear. On a CT scan, the tumour may be visualised as a soft tissue mass within the middle ear cavity.

It was a preoperative CT scan for middle ear tumour. Unfortunately further clinical or imaging follow-up is not available for this case at this time.
