Empty right scrotal sac with non-palpable right testicle

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

The right testicle is seen in the right inguinal region presents slightly flattened morphology and normal echogenicity. The left testicle is seen inside the scrotal sac, showing average size and normal echogenicity

MRI shows an empty right scrotal sac, the right testicle is seen at the right inguinal region elicits intermediate signal intensity in T1 and high signal in T2. The left testicle is seen inside the scrotal sac. 

Case Discussion

Ultrasound has 45% sensitivity, 78% specificity while MRI has 90% sensitivity, 100% specificity for localization of undescended testis.
