Unicornuate uterus with contralateral rudimentary horn

Presentation

Cyclic pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

MRI with and without contrast demonstrating non-communicating and functional right rudimentary horn (type a1b) containing hematoma and a small polyp measuring 6 x 7 mm. Unicornuate uterus (class II of Mullerian anomaly) is small and functional. Hematosalpinx and left follicular cyst with thin enhancing wall and left ovarian endometrioma with blood product signal intensity.

Small amount of pelvic fluid is noted too.

Case Discussion

A unicornuate uterus is class II of Mullerian duct anomaly, and according to American Fertility Society classification, this case that shows contralateral non-communicating horn containing endometrium is type a1b. In this case, the rudimentary horn has a small polyp. Hematosalpinx and left ovarian endometrioma are noted too.
