Case Discussion

Unilateral absence of the pulmonary artery is a rare congenital condition. It can occur as an isolated anomaly or in association with other congenital anomalies like TOF or aortic coarctation.

Clinically, patients may present with recurrent chest infection or with features of pulmonary hypertension.

In this case, the left pulmonary veins are dilated probably because the right heart output is directed only to the left lung.
