Unilateral masseter and pterygoid hypertrophy

Presentation

Non tender right cheek swelling with no palpable mass on examination.

Patient Data

Age: 29 yrs
Gender: Female
Modality: CT

Hypertrophy of right masseter and pterygoid muscles. Bilateral fat density in the buccal space (anterior to masseter muscle) is normal finding and does not represent lipoma.

Case Discussion

The images show hypertrophy of masseter and pterygoid muscles on the right side with no evidence of abscess/fat stranding. There is no bony erosion.
