Hypertrophy of right masseter, temporalis, medial and lateral pterygoid muscles seen as a uniformly increased muscle bulk with preserved signal intensity.
Case Discussion
Case showing unilateral hypertrophy of the masticatory muscles (masseter, temporalis, medial and lateral pterygoid muscles).
On imaging, It appears as muscle hypertrophy with uniformly increased muscle bulk with preserved signal intensity. The value of imaging in diagnosis is to exclude other causes of facial swelling like tumors, especially if unilateral as in this case.
