Patient Data

Age: 7 months
Gender: Female

Premature closure of the right coronal suture, right squamous, right spheno parietal, spheno squamous and spheno frontal sutures with resultant forehead flattening at that side (anterior Plagiocephaly). Subsequent Copper beaten skull is seen at the left parietal as well as occipital regions. 

Case Discussion

The pterion is an anatomical landmark represents the junction of the frontal, temporal, parietal, and sphenoid bones. Craniosynostosis affecting sutures of the pterion is rare and is represented with premature closure of the frontosphenoidal, squamotemporal,sphenosquamosal, and sphenoparietal sutures as demonstrated in our study.
