Contrast-enhanced CT scan shows dilatation and filling defect in the distal left renal vein.
No alteration in contrast opacification of the renal parenchyma to indicate an end organ event, such as an infarct.
Case Discussion
Filling defects in the renal vein may represent de-novo thrombosis, or in the context of renal cell carcinoma, can represent tumor thrombus - differentiating can be difficult.
