Upper limb cellulitis with superficial and deep vein thrombosis with pulmonary embolism

Diabetic with fever, rapidly progressing right upper limb swelling and dyspnoea.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Cellulitis of right upper limb with thrombosis of superficial and deep veins.

Pulmonary CT angiography showed a large thrombus in right main pulmonary artery with dilated right sided cardiac chambers, IVC and hepatic veins. CT venography of the upper limbs and neck showed thrombosis of right internal and external jugular veins and proximal brachial and subclavian veins. 

Swelling, redness and ulceration over right hand and arm.
