Ureteric calculus

Presentation

History of pain in left lumbar region since many months. Ultrasound revealed a left ureteric calculus of size 2 cm.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

A linear thick radioopaque density is noted in the left paravertebral region extending from the lower lumbar to the upper sacral region.

The calculus is indicated by the arrows.

Case Discussion

This is a case of left lower ureteric calculus.

This calculus was detected on ultrasound however grossly underestimated in size.

The patient was operated and a 10 cm calculus was removed.
