Presentation

Colicky abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and nausea for one week.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

A calculus with coronal height up to 5 mm in right side UVJ is seen which has led to hydroureteronephrosis upstream. There is also perirenal fat stranding on the right side. Fatty liver is also noted.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates that UVJ calculus and ureter obstruction can lead to perirenal fat stranding due to inflammatory change and/or urine backwash.
