Ureteropelvic junction calculus

A calculus coronal width up to 8 mm in left side ureteropelvic junction and hydronephrosis upstream and relatively enlarged left side kidney are seen. Another calculus up to 4 mm in the left kidney lower pole is also seen. Two small exophytic cortical cysts in the left kidney's middle to lower pole are seen. Kidneys have a relatively irregular cortical margin. Fatty liver and small faint density appendicolith are also seen.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates the ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) calculus one of the major locations of renal calculi which can also be readily seen by a meticulous ultrasound exam and lead to UPJ obstruction and hydronephrosis upstream.
