Massive dilatation of left renal pelvicalyceal system is noted resulting in huge cystic appearing mass causing abdominal distension and displacing bowel loops. No visualized left renal parenchyma. Non opacified ipsilateral ureter.
Right renal parenchyma is normally enhanced.
Right pelvicalyceal system is opacified with contrast representing normal excretory function. No hydronephrosis or nephrolithiasis.
Urinary bladder is partially opacified.
Case Discussion
The imaging features described are in favor of left side ureteropelvic junction obstruction resulting in massive hydronephrosis mimicking a huge cystic lesion displacing bowel loops.
This case is also contributed by Dr. Sahar Maroof.
