Recurrent urinary tract infection

Patient Data

Age: 5-10Y
Gender: Male
Fluoroscopy

IVU and cystogram was normal. In micturating film a contrast filled sac appears posterior to the urinary bladder which increases in size while micturating.

Diagnosis: Urethral diverticulum

CT

CT confirms presence of contrast filled sac posterior to the urinary bladder, which tapers toward the prostatic urethra.

Case Discussion

Differential considerations include a ureterocele which is excluded by normal IVU and cystogram
