Urethral stricture

Presentation

Lower urinary tract symptoms - hesitancy, slow stream.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Retrograde urethogram

Fluoroscopy

Short segment (5mm) stricture at the junction of the penile and bulbous urethra. Filling defect related to lubricant jelly used. 

Case Discussion

The patient reported a Chlamydia spp. infection about two years prior and had been symptomatic for 18 months. Urethral stricture is much more common with gonococcal urethritis than with non-gonococcal urethritis.
