- There is broad based, soft tissue density lesion measuring 4.4 x 3.8 cm arising from the left lateral wall of the urinary bladder. Punctate focus of calcification is noted in the anterior aspect of the lesion.
- The lesion shows mild heterogeneous enhancement on post contrast parenchymal phase (pre HU: 37, post HU: 52).
- There is no evidence of invasion through the bladder wall or into the surrounding tissues.
- On the excretory phase the lesion appears as a filling defect in the contrast filled bladder.
- The bladder wall overall is mildly thickened (~4 mm), likely due to chronic outlet obstruction, but with normal outline and distensibility.
Case Discussion
CT urography shows a broad based, homogenously enhancing soft tissue density lesion in the left lateral aspect of the urinary bladder likely a malignant bladder mass. Cystoscopy was advised and a biopsy was taken. Histopathological examination revealed a low grade urothelial cell carcinoma.
