Chronic pelvic pain and menometrorrhagia

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Enlarged uterus with small mural fibroids. Diffuse thickening of the junctional zone from 20 mm to 50 mm mainly corporeal anterior, containing multiple foci of high T1WI and T2WI signal.

Case Discussion

MRI features of a uterine adenomyosis Note the high T1 foci indicate a menstrual hemorrhage within the ectopic endometrial tissue.
