Uterine artery embolisation - Fibroids

35 year old female with fibroids and menorrhagia

Age: 35
Gender: Female
Modality: DSA (angiography)

Case Discussion

After excluding other causes; the uterine arteries on both sides are embolised using polyvinyl alcohol particles (300-350micron size).

Post-embolisation images reveal complete cessation of blood supply to the uterus on both sides.

Robertson's uterine catheter is used to cannulate uterine arteries on both sides  with right common  femoral artery puncture.
