Uterine leiomyoma - FIGO type VI

Presentation

Chronic pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

There is a 4 x 5 x 5.5 cm well-defined smooth outlined pelvic mass lesion, arising from the left postero-lateral aspect of the uterine body. It shows low to intermediate signal intensity on T1WI and intermediate signal intensity on T2WI with central areas of high signal within (cystic degeneration). The postcontrast sequences demonstrate marked and heterogeneous enhancement equal to the next uterine myometrium. MRI features of uterine subserosal leiomyoma (FIGO type 6).
