Uterus didelphys with an obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis

Presentation

Lower abdominal pain for 2 days.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Female

Two uterine bodies with separate cervix and vaginal canal are noted suggesting uterine didelphys. A well-defined fluid collection is noted in the right vaginal canal likely representing hematocolpos.

Right renal agenesis.

Case Discussion

This combination of findings is known as Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome. The patient underwent incision and drainage of the hematocolpos.
