Presentation
Patient with multiple malformations since birth, presenting recurrent urinary infections.
Patient Data
The contrast study through the colostomy shows filling of the distal colon and bladder, with colon-vesical fistula communication visible in the study. Presence of marker in the topography of the anus.
Bilateral absence of the radius bones and dislocation of the elbows are observed.
X-ray shows malformation of the T6 vertebral body.
Case Discussion
The patient has had multiple malformations since birth: single umbilical artery, imperforate anus, bilateral radial agenesis, interventricular communication (ostium secundum type), spinal malformation and congenital clubfoot, findings compatible with VACTERL association. He underwent a colostomy due to an imperforate anus in the first days of life, but began to have recurrent urinary tract infections – suspected of having abnormalities of the urinary tract; a colovesical fistula was found in the contrast study.
