Study for diffuse abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

CT abdomen and pelvis

ct

CT with intravenous contrast in this elderly patient shows occupation of the vaginal cavity by foreign body annular morphology or "doughnut".

Case Discussion

A mechanical pessary is most commonly used to treat uterine prolapse. As an incidental finding in imaging studies a ring structure with the form of "doughnut" can be a pessary.
