Patient Data
A lobulated right temporal lobe hemorrhage is noted with surrounding edema. The posterior third of the superior sagittal sinus, the right transverse and right sigmoid dural venous sinuses are hyperdense, difficult to appreciate on postcontrast imaging as the density of blood and thrombus is similar.
CT venogram confirms the presence of extensive dural venous sinus thrombosis involving the posterior superior sagittal sinus, the right transverse and right sigmoid sinuses.
Hemorrhage within the right temporoparietal region is similar in size to previous with surrounding FLAIR abnormality and sulcal effacement.
There is extensive filling defect within the dural sinuses involving the superior sagittal sinus extending into the right transverse and sigmoid sinus and into the imaged internal jugular vein. The left sigmoid transverse sinus opacify normally.
