L4 vertebral body elicits high signal at T1 & T2 WI with coarse vertically oriented trabeculae. The axial images demonstrate the coarse trabeculae on end surrounded by fat signal giving the "salt and pepper" appearance.
L5/S1 small left paracentral disc protrusion.
