Vertebral osteoid osteoma

6 months history of low back pain

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male

Mild lumbar scoliosis of right-sided convexity. An osteolytic lesion (diameter=15 mm) is noted,  centered on the left pedicle of L5 (nidus) with central foci of calcification (sclerotic dot), surrounding reactive sclerosis as well as edematous infiltration of the left paravertebral muscles. Note an ossification of the anterior vertebral ligament at L4-L5 level.
