Well-defined intraosseous air cyst is noted beneath the superior endplate of the vertebral body.

Case Discussion

Intraosseous pneumatocysts are gas-containing cysts seen inside the bone without communication with the joint. In this case no air is seen in the relevant disc (vacuum phenomenon) to suggest the air is secondary to disc degeneration.
