Presentation

Cyclist hit by car. Loss of consciousness. Strike on anterior side of the head. Right-sided neck pain.

Patient Data

Age: 53
Gender: Male
ct

Well circumscribed lesion in vertebral body C4 with air density. No cortical disruption.

No traumatic injuries.

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with a vertebral pneumatocyst in the cervical spine. While being far less common than pneumatocysts near the sacroiliac joints, vertebral pneumatocysts most frequently occur in the cervical spine.
