Vertical longitudinal tear of lateral meniscus with bucket handle tear of medial meniscus

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Twisting injury of knee

Patient Data

Age: 25 years

Vertical longitudinal tear of body of lateral meniscus is seen reaching femoral as
well as tibial articular surfaces.

Bucket handle tear of medial meniscus with large displaced meniscal fragment in medial aspect of intercondylar notch anterior to posterior cruciate ligament.

Low to intermediate grade sprain of mid segment/femoral attachment of anterior cruciate ligament is seen. It's overall continuity appears maintained.

Grade 1/2 injury of medial collateral ligament is seen (predominantly deep fibers near femoral attachment).

Posterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments appear intact.
