Case Discussion

An incidental finding of a vesicourachal diverticulum filled with urine as evidenced by the cystic appearance. There is a linear calculus within the superior aspect of the vesicourachal diverticulum outlined by urine.

There is no associated mass lesion to suggest a urachal adenocarcinoma and no signs of associated infection are present. This was further confirmed with contrast administration.

Congenital urachal remnants may develop infection due to urinary stasis. In this instance, the urinary stasis has precipitated a linear calculus within a vesicourachal diverticulum.

The patient was asymptomatic and an elective urological assessment was recommended.
