Micturating cystourethrography (MCU)

MCU shows a bilateral grade 5 reflux: tortuous ureter with severe dilatation of ureter and pelvicalyceal system, hydronephrosis with loss of fornices and papillary impressions.

Case Discussion

Vesicoureteric reflux is the term for abnormal flow of urine from the bladder into the upper urinary tract and is typically a problem encountered in young children.
