Presentation

Urinary tract infection.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Fluoroscopy

Micturating cystourethrogram image shows left grade II vesicoureteral reflux with thin and delicate calyces.

Case Discussion

Significant vesiculoureteral reflux, if untreated, may lead to recurrent urinary tract infections, renal scarring, and eventually renal failure.

Low grade reflux may be treated by prophylactic antibiotic treatment.
