Vestibular schwannoma

Presentation

Chronic headache.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
mri

Well defined extra-axial solid appearing mass lesion at the right cerebellopontine angle extending into the right internal acoustic meatus. The lesion is compressing the adjacent brainstem and 4th ventricle resulting in mild triventricular hydrocephalus.

The mass lesion exhibits intermediate signals in the T1 heterogenous signal on T2/FlAIR images. Vivid enhancement on the T1 post-contrast images. No diffusion restriction on DWI and its corresponding ADC map.
The lesion shows blooming artifact on T2*GRE suggesting calcification/hemorrhage.
