Case contributed by Dr Praveen Jha

Presentation

Obstructive jaundice. No history of fever.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female

This case has been tagged as "legacy" as it no longer meets image preparation and/or other case publication guidelines.

Multiple cystic lesions of less than 1.5 cm scattered in both lobes without communication with the biliary tree. Calculus in the distal CBD noted.

Case Discussion

MR images show a large calculus in common bile duct with proximally dilated biliary tree. Multiple peripherally placed cystic lesions measuring less than 1.5 cm are seen scattered in liver parenchyma. No obvious communication with biliary tree is seen. Most of the cysts have irregular outline and no enhancement is seen on post-contrast images.

No cystic lesions could be demonstrated in kidneys.

Diagnosis of von Meyenburg complex (multiple biliary hamartomas) with choledocholithiasis was made.
