What is this device?

x-ray

A right IJ central venous catheter is seen with the tip overlying the cavoatrial junction.

A Zoll external defibrillator (Life vest ) overlies the patient.
 

Case Discussion

This is also called a Life Vest and is manufactured by Zoll. It is used all the time except when bathing and showering. It acts as a bridge to decide if one needs an AICD. See reference 1 for recommendations, safety, trials, etc.
