Wegener granulomatosis

Case contributed by Dr Angela Byrne

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

There is a number of ill-defined nodules the largest of which projects over the dome of the right hemidiaphragm. This nodule appears to have a central lucency suggesting cavitation.

Single slice from a CT through the chest confirms the presence of at least 2 nodules, the larger of the two having a large central cavity and air-fluid level.

Case Discussion

Patient was confirmed to have Wegener granulomatosis.
