Wet lung and pulmonary venous congestion in the context of patent ductus arteriosus and patent foramen ovale

Presentation

Born on the 36th gestational week with cesarean section. Reduced SpO2, systolic murmur. Wet lung?

Patient Data

Age: Newborn
Gender: Male

Bilateral perihilar steaky haziness, blunted costophrenic angles suggestive of small amount of pleural effusion. Moderate cardiomegaly with rounded configuration and elevated apex. Findings are altogether in line with wet lung/pulmonary venous congestion. 

Case Discussion

Subsequent echocardiography confirmed patent ductus arterious and patent foramen ovale.
